Why Veggin’?

Hi. I’m Megabeth. And, I’m a vegetarian.

This year, I will be entering into a new adventure. I will be receiving weekly deliveries from a local CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). Deliveries begin the week after Memorial Day. I will also have access to self-picking vegetables at their farm as well.

Faced with the daunting task of cooking these vegetables 1) before they go bad and 2) in new and interesting ways, I wanted a way to keep track of what I got in each delivery and what I actually cooked with them

I have been gleaning information from these internets for so many years that I figured it was time for me to give back. As a result, I will have a one-stop-shop for what I cooked, when I cooked it, and reviews as to how I liked it. Also, I will be asking friends, family and co-workers for ideas on how they cook certain vegetables and incorporate those new techniques, meals and ideas. Finally, I wanted to pay tribute to some of the sites and resources that I have used over the years by linking and referring to recipes that I’ve used. It’s all in an effort to not get into a cooking rut and to explore new tastes and ideas.

As a bonus, as I travel, I’m always on the lookout for restaurants that are vegetarian, vegan or simply just are thoughtful in their meatless selections. I’ll also post reviews of these establishments.
