In the US, places to pick up a fresh sandwich (like Eat  in London) and few and far between. Finding a ploughman’s sandwich is next to impossible. So, I am forced to make my own.
My version of a ploughman’s sandwich includes:
– Two slices of whole rye bread (Mestemacher)
– Tomato slices
– Extra sharp cheddar
– Spinach, lettuce or other leafy green
– And, the key ingredient – Heinz Ploughman’s Pickle
Layer ingredients on two slices of the bread…and enjoy. Preferably with a bag of salt and vinegar crisps.
