Veggie Brothers Product Review: Tofu Scrambler with Vegan Sausage & Cheese Breakfast Turnover


It’s breakfast time! And, I have to start this review with one word…Yum.


These turnovers were remarkable in both flavor and texture. But, I get ahead of myself. Veggie Brothers describes this product as [2], “Organic puff pastry lightly turned over our delicious, nutritious Tofu Scrambler mixed with pieces of skillet fried vegan breakfast sausage and smothered in a delicious vegan mozzarella cheese.”

I may have squished the pastries in the freezer as one of the corners was broken when I opened the package. The crust on the corners is delicate so I’ll have to remember that the next time I get and store these in the freezer. The cooking instructions were to place them in the oven for 15-18 at 350 degrees. I opted to use my toaster oven.
The nice thing about these pastries is that you can stumble to the kitchen, pop them in the toaster oven, then go back to get dressed and get ready for the day. They are done in no time.

The pastry was flaky and light which was surprising considering only a quarter hour earlier they were frozen solid. In fact, both the outside and inside cooked perfectly. The sausage was spicy and closely mimicked the seasonings of real sausage. The tofu scramblers and cheese rounded out the mixture with a nice balance that didn’t make it too heavy for a morning meal. Yes, indeed, these definitely deserve the description of “Yum”.
