Restaurant Review: Salt N Pepper, New Orleans, Louisiana
I was fortunate enough to stumble upon Salt N Pepper because it was only a block from my New Orleans hotel. This little hole in the wall place can be easy to miss but it’s worthy of a lunchtime visit.
The menu is pretty extensive serving New Orleans cuisine like po boys and seafood entrees as well as pizza and burgers. But, the highlight of this place is freshly made Pakistani and Indian dishes. Don’t let the fact they serve several goat dishes turn you off – there are plenty of vegetarian dishes on the menu and on the white board next to the register.

As you can see, Salt N Pepper may not be the most attractive place in the world as it’s pretty sparse in it’s decorating. But it’s clean, the service is friendly and the food is great. While we were eating, plenty of traffic came in from folks grabbing carry-out.
My freshly-made palak paneer (spinach with cheese) was piping hot when it was brought to our table. Served with a side order of basmati rice and a salad, this was the perfect meal to get me through the day.

Salt N Pepper is located near the Westin, the Shops at Canal Place and the aquarium. For a great homemade lunch, it’s a nice place to stop off – especially if you’ve been cooped up inside of a conference room all day long.
